Miami Rescue Mission Clinic

Nestled in the heart of Wynwood/Overtown, the Miami Rescue Mission (MRM) shelter provides stable housing, nutrition, and essential primary care services to men who have experienced homelessness. Through a unique 12–18-month program, MRM goes beyond shelter, offering workforce preparation to empower individuals on their journey toward stability. In a partnership with a clinic across the street from MRM, DOCS established a student-run specialty clinic, extending free longitudinal specialty care to better support the residents.

Since its inception in 2021, DOCS MRM has been dedicated to providing specialty care services including nephrology, GI, cardiology, endocrinology, dermatology, urology, and pulmonology with the goal to continue to expand these specialty offerings in the years to come. Every other Wednesday evening at 4:30pm, physicians and medical student volunteers come together directly across the street from the MRM shelter and participate in a unique opportunity to gain exposure to specialty care while delving into the medical and social challenges faced by unhoused individuals.
