Student Information

DOCS is run by students at every level! From running weekly clinics as part of our clinic staff or volunteers to doing behind the scene work like MEDIT, DOCs would not be possible without the hard work of all our students.

“DOCS has been one of the most influential parts of my medical career. I am constantly inspired by our wonderful student body, who show up to clinics and health fairs to provide care to those who may otherwise never receive it. Beyond being a great learning opportunity, DOCS teaches students compassion and how to incorporate service into their daily lives. I am very grateful to be a part of such an impactful organization!” – Emily Eachus, MS4, DOCS Executive Director

Caring for the Community – Free Clinics Elective

This elective provides an opportunity for third and fourth year medical students to provide clinical care at student-run free clinics while advancing their knowledge of the social determinants of health and the barriers that uninsured patients encounter in obtaining primary medical care and specialty care when needed. Students will commit to volunteering for a minimum of 18 clinic sessions during their third and fourth years.
